2019: DESOLATE SEA
A novella about an expeditionary force abandoned on a planet that begins to change around them. Considers the obsolescence and mythical quality of the departing space age. Revisited in 2024 as a Twine novella with some light coding and stylistic elements.
2025: HARBINGER
A short Twine story about an ailing village in the woods in the 10th or 11th century, faced with a stranger that came from the woods and the thing that followed him there. The slow encroaching pressure of kings and kingdoms, being forgotten, wanting to be forgotten, and the erasures that come with passing into history.
2025: LESSER OMENS
A small, experimental project that produces randomised snippets of poetic imagery sourced largely from text I wrote for the project, presented as a kind of tarot-style reading. I am always curious about the meanings things take on out of their original contexts.
UPCOMING: LAST VOYAGE OF THE CALANDERA
Upcoming Twine novella about a fictitious-non-ficitious expedition to the Antarctic. Explores the historiography of the Heroic Age and the remembrance mythos that develops around familiar early 20th century stories of incredible hardship and survival against nature, against the backdrop of colonial extractivism and increasing environmental destruction.
